CCSVI – Ein großer Durchbruch bei MS?

Im August erhielt ich eine Nachricht mit der Frage, was ich über CCSVI bei Multipler Sklerose denke. Ich hatte die gleiche Reaktion, welche wohl die meisten von Ihnen gehabt hätten, wenn Sie den Titel dieses Artikels lesen – "Was verdammt noch mal ist CCSVI?" Eine Suche bei Google ließ mich wissen, dass dies für "Chronisch zerebrospinale venöse Insuffizienz" steht und eine Suche bei PubMed führte mich zu einer Handvoll wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten über CCSVI, die alle von dem italienischen Gefäßchirurgen / Wissenschaftler Paolo Zamboni stammen.

Reaction of the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society

The Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society published 17. Nov. 2009 a news message concerning venous Multiple Sclerosis / CCSVI.

This message is surprisingly not written in inquisitive style, but contains mistakes and does not reflect latest scientific results.

Multiple Sclerosis was described for the first time 1868 by J. Charcot. Since Charcot scientific research is ongoing. Until now no theory concerning the cause of MS could be proven.

Die Schweizerische Multiple Sklerose Gesellschaft hat am 17. Nov. 2009 eine News Meldung über die venöse Multiple Sklerose (CCSVI) veröffentlicht.

Die News Meldung ist überraschenderweise nicht offen und neugierig gegenüber der Hypothese der venösen Multiple Sklerose formuliert, sondern sie enthält Fehler und fasst den derzeitigen wissenschaftlichen Stand nur unvollständig zusammen!

Multiple Sklerose wurde 1868 das erste Mal von J. Charcot beschrieben und wird seither erforscht. Keine Ursachenhypothese konnte bisher wissenschaftlich hinreichend bestätigt werden.

In August, I received a message asking me what I thought about CCSVI in multiple sclerosis. I had the same reaction most of you did when you read the title of this article – “What the hell is CCSVI?” A Google search told me it stood for “chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency” and a PubMed search led me to a handful of papers on CCSVI, all authored by an Italian vascular researcher/surgeon named Paolo Zamboni.
